Unseen Westeros - Shadow Lands Watchtower
Artwork for the "Unseen Westeros" exhibition displaying unseen locations from George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire".
Shadow Lands Watchtower:
High above the ruined city of Stygai, inbetween the summits of the Shadow Lands, sits a watchtower where the bravest protectors stay on high alert to warn Stygai of any incoming attacks, may it be demons, dragons or other twisted creatures.

This piece actually started out in Houdini right away, setting up a shot, creating the geo and shaders. I rendered some layers to be used in Photoshop alongside classic photo-based matte painting/concept art techniques. Final touch up done in Nuke.
